The Muffin Dress.

This one has a real origin story, and it's not a marketing one.

On New Year's Eve in Thailand — which is warm in a way that makes formalwear an act of endurance — Leah wore a long dress with a cutout at the midriff. It looked sharp, and it was the only part of the dress where air could actually reach her skin. She spent the night comfortable while everyone else quietly cooked, and went home having accidentally solved a problem she didn't know she'd been carrying.

A few weeks later she was getting dressed for a round, looking at a drawer full of golf skirts and damp-by-hole-six polos, and had the thought: what if a golf dress had a cutout like the New Year's one?

So she bought a dress from a golf outlet, took it home, and cut it up. The first Muffin Dress was a prototype she made herself, on her daughter's learner sewing machine, at the kitchen table. It wasn't perfect. It had exactly enough opening to let air move and not so much that it stopped being a golf dress. She wore it to Aquella, and somewhere in there she stopped being someone looking for clothes that made her feel like she belonged on a course and became someone designing the clothes she wanted to wear.

This is that dress, made properly.

What it is. A form-fitting bodice with a mock neck and a gold semi-auto-lock zip — the good kind, that stays where you put it mid-swing. Racer-front armholes cut in clean at the shoulder for a full, unrestricted turn. Then the line that defines it: a dramatic angled cutout across the midriff and lower back, with the bodice and skirt joined only at the wearer's right side. Then a slightly flared mini skirt with a proper twin-needle hem.

The cutout is engineering that happens to look extremely good. Air moves. Skin breathes. You finish eighteen in Thai heat still feeling like yourself.

The details that matter. Flat high-recovery elastic enclosed in the seam, applied at a 1:1 tension — no gathering, no puckering, no shirring on the outside. A hidden interior pocket at the center back of the skirt, anchored to the waistband and built to hold two balls without sagging or swinging around. Medium-weight performance knit, 90% polyester and 10% spandex, four-way stretch, moisture-wicking, shape retention. A raised gold MG, 30 mm, at the chest — finished to catch the light.

Golf, dinner, the drive home. It's one piece and it handles all three.

Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, inside out. Hang dry only — the enclosed waist elastic doesn't want a dryer. No fabric softener; it coats the fibres and kills the moisture-wicking. The MG is fine in the wash — just don't iron directly over it.
